Chai Benson is a Registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, a member of two California Associations of Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Certified Infant Massage Teacher. Her private practice in Long Beach specializes in solution-focused therapy with couples, anger management for women and men and infant/toddler behavior problems. Chai believes that guiding families towards their unique goals means noticing and maximizing strengths in the family. Many obstacles that individuals/families face can be transformed into opportunities for self-awareness and personal growth. Her path toward becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist began while interviewing parents for a research project on families and schools. She attended Purdue University to receive a Master's of Science in Child Development and Family Studies with a focus on post-modern and play therapies. After completing her work as a Mental Health and Disabilities Specialist for children ages 0-3, she will begin a certification program on infant-parent mental health.
